Abu Dhabi is often overshadowed by Dubai, but the UAE's capital offers a richer blend of culture, world-class museums, iconic architecture, thrilling theme parks, and authentic Arabian experiences. From riding the world's fastest roller coaster at Ferrari World to admiring masterpieces at Louvre Abu Dhabi and exploring the futuristic teamLab Phenomena, Abu Dhabi easily deserves at least five full days.

As we currently reside in Abu Dhabi, we have been to most of the attractions here and have explore the rich Emirati culture, thrilling theme parks and luxury experiences.


This 5-day Abu Dhabi itinerary covers the city's top attractions, transportation options, accommodation recommendations, and estimated costs to help you plan the perfect trip.

Day 1: Discover Abu Dhabi's Cultural Icons

  • Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

    Start your Abu Dhabi adventure with the city's most iconic landmark. The mosque is one of the largest in the world and features 82 domes, reflective pools, intricate floral marble inlays, and the world's largest hand-knotted carpet.

    Time Needed: 2-3 hours

    Entry Fee: Free (Need to register through their website to get the QR code through https://szgmc.gov.ae/en/individual-booking)

    Photography Tip: Visit around sunset for stunning golden-hour shots.

    Dress Code: Shorts and revealing clothing are not allowed. Strictly avoid sleeveless clothing, cover shoulders and women need to cover their heads. Scarfs and covers are available near the mosque, but they are expensive.

  • Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental

    One of the most luxurious hotels in the world, Emirates Palace is worth visiting even if you're not staying there.

    Things to do:

    Walk around the palace grounds, enjoy the famous gold-flake cappuccino, relax on the private beach

    Time Needed: 1-1.5 hours

    Approx. Cost: AED 50-80 for coffee and snacks


  • Qasr Al Watan (Presidential Palace)

    This magnificent working presidential palace showcases Arabian craftsmanship and UAE governance and it also has a small museum inside. The main highlights are the Great Hall, Presidential Gifts Collection, Palace in Motion light show.

    Time Needed: 2-3 hours

  • Evening at Corniche Beach

    End your first day with a walk along the Corniche.

    Things to do:

    Beach walk, Sunset photography, Bicycle rentals, Waterfront dining


Day 2: Saadiyat Island Cultural District

  • Louvre Abu Dhabi

    It is not as massive as the Louvre museum of Paris, but it is the most famous museum in the Middle East that combines global art collections with spectacular architecture beneath its iconic dome. The main highlights are the Rain of Light Dome, Egyptian Antiquities, Renaissance Art and Contemporary Collections. Do not miss to take the Instagram famous ramp walk photo here.

    Photography Tip: Usually a 30-minute queue to take photos at the ramp. You can also hire the official photographer for a fee at the site.


  • teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi

    One of Abu Dhabi's newest attractions, teamLab Phenomena features immersive digital art where light, water and technology react to visitors' movements. It is close to the Louvre Museum. It has multiple rooms filled with amazing interactive and immersive exhibits.

    Time Needed: 2-3 hours

    Entry Fee: AED 165 (Adults), AED 55 (Kids)

  • Zayed National Museum

    Another newly opened attraction. It showcases the history, culture, and economic transformation of the Emirates. There are 6 permanent galleries featuring more than 3000 artefacts on display.

Day 3: Yas Island Theme Park Day

Yas Island is Abu Dhabi's entertainment capital. Do not miss the fabulous theme parks and get thrilled with the rides and the experiences.


  • Ferrari World Abu Dhabi:

    Home to Formula Rossa, one of the world's fastest roller coasters. Some of the top rides you should not miss are the Formula Rossa, Flying Aces, Mission Ferrari and Turbo Track.

    Time Needed: Full Day

    Optional Evening: If you have enough time, then you can visit the Yas Mall nearby for luxury shopping experience and dining.


Day 4: Warner Bros. World & Yas Waterfront

  • Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

    One of the world's largest indoor theme parks featuring six themed lands and dozens of attractions. WB takes you up close to the famous Hollywood characters and setups. You would really love the Gotham City, Metropolis, Cartoon Junction and Bedrock. It is a great outing for families, cartoon lovers and DC comics fans.

  • Evening at Yas Bay

    Enjoy your evening at the Waterfront restaurants, Live music and Marina views.


Day 5: SeaWorld Abu Dhabi & Desert Adventure

  • SeaWorld Yas Island Abu Dhabi

    One of the largest indoor marine-life theme parks in the world. This is a must visit if you love aquariums. The highlights are the Endless Ocean Aquarium, Marine exhibits and the animal encounters

  • Evening Desert Safari

    You cannot miss the desert safari here! No Abu Dhabi trip is complete without experiencing the desert. The evening desert safari is just perfect, as the climate becomes a bit cooler and the golden hour hits the sky. There are tons of safari packages that you can opt for. Usually they include different combinations of experiences covering dune bashing, camel rides, sandboarding, BBQ dinner, belly dancing, falcon photography. The price depends on what you choose to do or experience.

Transportation Guide:

  • From Airport to City:

    You can opt for Taxi it usually takes 30-40 minutes

    Airport Buses are a great alternative to taxi, with nice coverage.

    Cost: Approximately AED 4-10

  • Local Transport:

    Uber, Careem and Yango taxi are widely used.

    City buses are the most reliable and cheapest way to commute. Abu Dhabi has a great network of buses,.You can get the Bus Card (Hafilat Card) from the Airport kiosk or the desk or from kiosks located at many bus stops throughout the city, The buses in Abu Dhabi are cashless and can be paid for only using the Hafilat card.
